DES is a community-based project. Each collection is a meeting point between different experiences, expressions and backgrounds – a living story of identity and creativity. The shalwar kameez is a traditional South and Central Asian garment, known for its timeless elegance. Introduced by Muslim communities in the 13th century, it became particularly popular in the Punjab region. The shalwar is wide at the waist and narrow at the ankles, while the kameez – a long tunic – allows freedom of movement. Together with Aon, founder of Des I helped DES design and develop their first collection.
